Hello. I'm Paula Scott
I’ve been running PS Business Matters for over 10 years and work with clients across Cumbria and sometimes beyond our beautiful borders.
I love to deliver a good project or help you get your message out in the right way to the right people.
I have a sensible, fuss-free approach to business and marketing advice, but I don’t just advise, I’m hands on and I can get the practical work done for you.
I’m proud to have worked with some of my clients since my first year in business but I’m always happy to hear from new people, like you!

In real life
I'm like Monica but with tidier cupboards
I’m a mum to two boys and an old lady Jack Russell Terrier, Meg. Kendal is a brilliant town to call home where I love my tiny garden and do battle with a Victorian terrace house. I love any seaside but favour the British north-east coast, thanks to my Geordie roots.
I read a lot, listen to podcasts and am probably catching up with the TV series you watched last year! Gin, white wine and ice creams fit into this picture somewhere.
I’m very organised, thanks to the digital apps that run my life, but need to spend less time scrolling Instagram for unachievable interiors and small garden hacks!
Past life
Showing my age with a 30 year career!
Before setting up PS Business Matters, I spent 10 years working for Cumbria Tourism latterly as Business Development Manager offering practical business advice and developing and delivering a wide range of projects to help improve the performance of tourism businesses and the skills of their teams.
The 10 years before this were spent gaining an operational background in the hotel sector before progressing to Front of House senior management roles and sales and marketing.
This taught me that many potential problems can be avoided with sensible communication and great customer service. Never as easy as it sounds!
As an organisation with a small team it is sometimes helpful and necessary to bring in some outside help to work on specific projects. Paula’s approach to organising and delivering our event was flawless. I would recommend Paula without question.
